Deferred jQuery.Deferred(), introduced in version 1.5, is a chainable utility object that can register multiple callbacks into callback queues, invoke callback queues, and relay the success or failure state of any synchronous or asynchronous function.

jqXHR The jQuery XMLHttpRequest (jqXHR) object returned by $.ajax() as of jQuery 1.5 is a superset of the browser's native XMLHttpRequest object. For example, it contains responseText and responseXML properties, as well as a getResponseHeader() method. When the transport mechanism is something other than XMLHttpRequest (for example, a script tag for a JSONP request) the jqXHR object simulates native XHR functionality where possible. The jqXHR objects returned by $.ajax() as of jQuery 1.5 implement the Promise interface, giving them all the properties, methods, and behavior of a Promise (see Deferred object for more information). For convenience and consistency with the callback names used by $.ajax(), jqXHR also provides .error(), .success(), and .complete() methods. These methods take a function argument that is called when the $.ajax() request terminates, and the function receives the same arguments as the correspondingly-named $.ajax() callback. This allows you to assign multiple callbacks on a single request, and even to assign callbacks after the request may have completed. (If the request is already complete, the callback is fired immediately.)
Map Tip: you can animate every CSS numeric property.
Promise This object provides a subset of the methods of the Deferred object (then, done, fail, always, pipe. isResolved, and isRejected) to prevent users from changing the state of the Deferred
